The Emporia State Hornets and Lady Hornets are the sports teams of Emporia State University located in Emporia, Kansas. They participate in the NCAA's Division II and in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA).[1]

The current head football coach at Emporia State is Garin Higgins , who has held the position since 2007. Under Higgins, the program began has accumlated an overall record of 14 wins and 29 losses. Higgins was an ESU quarterback from 1987-1990.[2]
The official mascot of Emporia State Athletic teams is Corky. Corky was designed by Mr. Paul Edwards. He is a former Disney artist and works in many mediums and excells in every area of work. He is a fantasic watercolorist and sculpture.
